The brutal season seven premiere of "The Walking Dead" which revealed the victims of Negan's Eeny, meeny, miny, moe game, was viewed by 20.8 million people.


The seventh season of "The Walking Dead" premiered on Sunday, October 23, 2016, revealing the identity of Negan's victims to 20.8 million people.



The number reinforces "The Walking Dead" as the number one show on television for the  fifth consecutive season.

The show pulled off its most violent episode yet in  "The Day Will Come When You Won’t Be," killing off Steven Yeun (Glenn Rhee) and Michael Cudlitz (Abraham Ford).

The Parents Television Council recently expressed their disappointment at the televised gruesome death of Steven Yeun (Glenn Rhee) and Michael Cudlitz (Abraham Ford) on the episode.
The show's seventh season will comprise of 16 episodes and will air in two parts, with the first eight episodes  premiering October 23, and the final eight returning February 2017.
On October 23, 2016, AMC renewed the show for its eighth season, which will premiere in late 2017 and will kick off with the 100th episode of the series.
