Alan Haggarty, 30, shopped his cheating wife after discovering love letters from killer Thomas Peacock
The jilted husband of a cheating prison officer sacked over her fling with a killer says he is still “holding his head up high”.
Alan Haggarty, who is also a prison officer, shopped his new wife Danika to their bosses over her affair.
The 30-year-old posted “head STILL held high” on Facebook yesterday and was bombarded with messages of support, the Daily Record reported.
Mark Miller said: “You have been top drawer throughout all this Alan. Prince amongst men.”
Anne Ferguson Leitch said: “U can hold your head up. You know who your true friends are and they will help you through it. Well done to you for standing up.”
Sandy Mckinnon wrote: “Life goes on big yin keep strong as u move forward.”
Hugh Haggarty posted: “Upward and onward Allan.”
The Record revealed yesterday how Alan blew the whistle to bosses at Addiewell Prison, West Lothian, after he discovered a stash of love letters from murderer Thomas Peacock to his wife of eight months.
Danika, 36, is understood to have been carrying on a secret relationship with “pizza box killer” Peacock, 31, for up to two years.
The callous thug and a friend put a pizza box over 45-year-old Douglas Lambie’s face before kicking him to death so they would not get blood on their designer clothes.
In 2006, Peacock was ordered to serve at least 17 years before being considered for parole.
A prison source told the Record prison programmes manager Danika gave Peacock the job of programmes ambassador, which allowed them to be alone together.
They said: “She was taking Peacock off the wing and to her office.
“She even got a tattoo of a peacock on her side for him.”
