Paul Pogba is to rejoin Manchester United after Juventus granted him permission to undergo a medical.

Jose Mourinho hinted a deal was all but done during Friday's press conference as he looks to add a final new face before the new season.

Juve chief Massimiliano Allegri insisted earlier this weekend that the player would be back in training on Monday.
An official from the Italian club told Mirror Football that Pogba has been given permission to travel to Manchester with United now confirming the news.

Juve faced West Ham at the London Stadium on Sunday with Pogba not travelling as he remains on holiday.

And while the Serie A champions didn't confirm when the Frenchman would fly to England, Pogba is expected to arrive in the coming days.
A United statement read: "Paul Pogba has been granted permission to have a medical in order to finalise his transfer from Juventus to Manchester United."

The Juve spokesperson added: “It is up to the manager if he wants to give any more details, but for now we do not know when that medical might be, or in this office where the player is after his holiday.”

Pogba has holidayed in the United States over the last four weeks and has fuelled speculation about his future with a series of social media posts.

Mourinho admitted on Friday that United hoped to seal a new signing before the start of the new season: "Yes we have 22 now and we are going to have 23." He refused to be drawn specifically on Pogba, though.

"You are right I don't like to speak about other clubs," he added.
"I don't like to speak about players from other clubs, other managers like to do that, they like to speak about my club and my players, I'm very pragmatic on this.

"The only thing that matters for me is what's happening in my house, not my neighbours's. Pogba is a Juventus player and until officially he isn't, we stay like this.

"But honestly, the market closes on August 31 but I think my club is trying to do everything to close our market before August 14 [date of Bournemouth Premier League opener], so normally next week we will have our squad closed."
United have been criticised for their pursuit of Pogba with Arsene Wenger and Jurgen Klopp both revealing their thoughts.

He said: “I only speak about us. I heard already two of my colleagues from other clubs speaking about us. I do not like that. It is not ethical.

“There are things that when I do are not ethical and when others do it everything is normal, nobody says that. I do not speak about the others. They can do what they want. Our market was good.

"We made decisions, decide to bring four players not 10, that are Manchester United level. Four that we think can really improve the squad and not just be one more. This is the profile of our market."
