The church property destroyed are estimated to be worth thousands of Naira.

Two hundred suspected Muslim youths have reportedly attacked a christian worship centre, St. Philip’s Catholic Parish, Baki Iku, Niger State, destroying valuable properties. 

The incident, which occurred on Friday, July 15, 2016, led to losses amounting to thousands of Naira, according to ThisDay News
Reverend Father Gobep Luka Sylvester, the Vicar-General of the Parish, confirmed news of the attack to reporters.

He said, "Sometime around 2pm, some Muslim youths in numbering 200 left their Mosque after their Friday Jumat prayer and rushed to the Church premises, climbed the wall and destroyed everything in the Church: the windows, the alter, musical instruments, the chapel". 

"The security man in the church premises was beaten to pulp. Some women who were holding a prayer meeting were chased away."  
"The seminarian who is resident in the premises was also beaten up and chased away.” 

The unfortunate incident is coming a week after the killing of a preacher, Eunice Olawale, in Kubwa, located at the Federal Capital Territory.
