Mohammed Gambo is eager to play with ex-Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo who has signed with Kano Pillars.
Following the signing of ex-Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo to Kano Pillars, forward Mohammed Gambo is keen to play alongside the former defender.
Yobo has signed to play the remaining Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) games of this season for Kano Pillars as part of the League Management Company Elite Scheme programme.
The 35-year-old defender could make his debut for the club when they host Sunshine Stars of Akure at their Sani Abacha Stadium in matchday 34 and Gambo can’t wait to link up with the ‘legend’.
"Joseph Yobo is someone I admire a lot and it will be a great privilege to play alongside him for Kano Pillars," the Kano Pillars striker told Complete Sports.
"Everyone at the club is keen to see him train and play in the league for us.”
Yobo’s move to Kano Pillars comes just three months after his testimonial game in Port Harcourt.
The
LMC, organisers of the NPFL on Tuesday, June 21 announced that Yobo has
signed a deal which will make him eligible to play for any interested
club in the last 12 games of the season.
Ifeanyi Ubah FC were favourite to sign the former Everton defender due to his friendship with the proprietor, Ifeanyi Ubah but Kano Pillars have won the race.
