The rapper who has been in the game for over a decade is moving on from music.
Rapper illBliss has called it quits with music.
Stating
on Instagram, he writes "Thank you all for being with me through this
amazing musical journey...Goodbye...to the game...I'm gone...Next
Chapter".
illBliss was a
celebrated Hip hop and rap artist who started music as a member of the
now defunct Hip-Hop Group - Da Thorobreds. The group, consisting of
other notable Hip-hop artistes such as Elajoe, Obiwon and B-Elect,
bagged the award for the Best HipHop song by a group/duo at the 2006
maiden edition of Hip Hop World Awards for the massive radio hit
"Streethop".
As a solo artist, he won his first major award as a
solo artiste at the Sound City Music Video Awards (SMVA) for Best
Hip-hop video, with his song 'U go wound o'. The award was presented by
American Hip-hop veteran Nas.
He
released his debut album in 2009 titled " Dat Ibo Boy", which housed
the hit single 'U go wound o' and 'Aiye po gan' featuring Terry G.
IllBliss is responsible for launching the careers of acts like Chidinma and Phyno among others.
In 2012 he released his debut album "Oga Boss" which was nominated for Best Rap Album at the Headies 2013.
August
2014, he announced a release of a third album "Powerful" which had
singles like 'Bank alert' on it but pushed it back for a mid-year 2015
release to finish production and tie-distribution for digital and
physical sales.
In collaboration with ace video
director, illBliss formed a joint venture called CAPital Hill
Music/Goretti Co, a recording/talent management company respectively.
The
rapper was also expected to drop a fourth album titled "iLLYGati", he
released a single in 2016 featuring Falz titled 'Ayakata'.
